In the year 2009 it was exactly 500 years ago that John Calvin was born. He was very important for the Netherlands. John Calvin is probably the most important theologian from the Reformation. He is often called with Martin Luther. His beliefs and thinking are very important for the life of almost all Christians. It is not surprising that there is written a lot about this man. His commentary on the Bible, his Institutions, his letters and his sermons are spread over the world and translated in many languages.
